M (Measurement) Lab: A Project to improve the Internet for everyone
A new initiative has emerged whose work is very pertinent to the EINS project. M Lab (or Measurement Lab) is a collaborative effort, which provides rich, openly collective data on broadband performance to consumers, researchers and policy makers. Sharing information is the guiding principle behind M Lab - so Internet users can test their network speed, latency, congestion and more, instantly and for free, and every time a test is run, M lab collects more data. In turn with increasing data and increasing collaboration, the better positioned M Lab is to improve the internet. The M Lab platform is open for others to contribute to and build on globally.
